The street painting Michael is most proud of is his composition
entitled “Remembering Heroes”. It was a tribute to the fallen
firefighters of the September 11th tragedy, created on the 3rd
anniversary of that day. Of the over 200 artist entries, he received a Judges’ 1st Place Award, as well as a 1st
Place People’s Choice Award.
The
People’s Choice Award is determined by popular vote of the viewing
public. By request, Michael recently recreated
this street painting on canvas and has made this work available in
prints. A portion of the sale of each “Remembering Heroes” print
will be donated to the Uniformed Firefighter’s Association Widows’
and Children’s Fund.
Most recently, his painting entitled “Patriot Threads” won him
the 1st Place People’s Choice Award in the 2005 RI State Employees’
Art Show.
